Questions about the plans
Why are the checks free?
Because they cost us almost nothing. A check is arithmetic and parsing by rule on our own check engine; it never calls a model. Charging for it would be charging for something we do not pay for.
What counts as one AI action?
One of the four things Claude does for you: fix the items the check flagged, sum up your research, score how well the journal fits, or draft a cover letter. Questions you type in the box are messages, counted separately.
How far does a plan go?
By our own estimate a paper takes about five AI actions and ten messages: fixes after two or three checks, a fit score, a cover letter and a few questions. One paper gives you 20 actions and 50 messages, so there is room for several rounds of revision. A year of papers gives you 100 actions and 250 messages.
Does a plan renew?
No. Every plan is a single payment. It adds credit that stays valid for twelve months from the day you buy it, and nothing is charged again unless you buy again. Credit you have not used by then expires.
Can I get a refund?
Yes, within 14 days of paying, if nothing the plan added has been used: ask from your account page, under Plans & billing. A charge made twice, or a payment whose plan never reached your account, is refunded whatever the date; write to us. Refunds are made through Wayl, against the same payment.
What happens when I run out?
The checks keep working exactly as before, because they are not part of any allowance. The free monthly allowance comes back on the first of the month, and it is always used before the credit you bought.

What is a submission pack?
Your manuscript blinded for review, and the title page carrying what was removed. It is prepared by rule; no model is involved in it at all.
